Summer Camp 2019

This years Brigades summer camp will be at Linton Free Church (Map) on the weekend of 12th to 14th of July. Following on from the success of last year, this will be open to every age group from the youngest to the oldest. The older sections (11+) will be under canvas, the younger groups will be sleeping indoors. Those who are not yet 8 years old will welcome to join us during the day but not to stay overnight.

Camp Schedule

We are planning a whole series of activities over the weekend and we will circulate a full schedule nearer the time so that younger children can come along for the different parts. We will also expect everyone to take a full part in all of the routine tasks, everything from cooking meals to tidying away and, yes, washing up! (But if everyone gets involved, nobody will need to do too much.)

Rough Timetable:

7pm Friday
Arrive at Linton Free Church
10.30pm Friday
Lights out
Saturday
A full day of activities, fun and excitement, good food, great company, fresh air and sunshine
10.00am Sunday
Join with Linton Church for the morning service, it would be great to have parents come along

We would be happy to welcome friends of Brigades members to this camp, but it we would prefer people to come along for a number of regular Brigades evenings beforehand, it helps a lot to get to know people a little ahead of a whole weekend together. One advantage of having a camp so close to home is that people can come along for part of the weekend and then slip back home. (Any children with commitments over the weekend would be welcome to join for those times when they are available, in the past some of our members are also involved with the SYD performance at Shelford Feast.)

We have staff who are qualified and experienced in everything that is involved, however if you would be free to come along for some or all of the camp it would be great to hear from you.

The cost of the weekend is £40 (£30 for additional children in the same family) which includes all food, accommodation and activities, please complete the online form by 18th June. We will have a preparation evening on Tuesday 2nd July (7pm) where full details will be available and a chance to ask any questions that might come to mind.

Many thanks

Lucy & David
